Course Overview:
This course is an introductory study of German language and culture. We will focus on the skills of speaking and listening, but reading and writing will also come into play. We’ll learn through a variety of activities (role plays, skit writing & performance, partner work, videos, TPRS, etc.).

By the end of the German I course, you should be able to introduce yourself and share basic information, describe your friends & family, discuss likes & dislikes, talk about your school schedule, go shopping for clothes or school supplies, order food & beverages, describe the weather & tell time, describe holidays, make plans for the weekend, make & answer a phone call, read & narrate a short story/fairy tale, and read and interpret short German texts like ads, posters, graphs, and emails.
